2008 Family Reunion

Ronnie's family reunion was yesterday and I don't think the weather could have been any nicer. It was great!! The first family member's to show up was Uncle Jim, Aunt Mary & Jamie at about 12:30 and the last one to leave was Jayson at about 10 pm.

The location of the reunion has been at our place for the 2nd year in a row and I can't think of anything negative about having it here. Craigs list allowed us a great deal on not 1 but 2 trampolines (lol) and there is horseshoe pits as well as kroquet, room to play football (they say touch but it always turns into tackle) and then the swimming pool was a refreshing element to the 95 degree weather. Sandie Shute was our chef BBQ'ing up all the burgers & hot dogs. (thank you) We had great food (banana split cake was 'yummy') and had a good time visiting with family that we haven't seen in awhile.

The goal for next year's party is to not let life get so busy that we can try and have another family get together before the actual family reunion. One year is along time to go without hanging around the people you should spend the most time with.

I married into a great family and I feel blessed that I get to call them "mine"!!!

Family trip to the zoo ~

~ I think the elephants are the coolest part about the zoo. Sometime back Ronnie & I went to the zoo (I can't even remember if we had Zack & Ty yet) we saw the elephants giving themselves a bath with their trunks. It was very cool. We didn't get lucky enough to see that again during this trip but it was equally as cool as it was Isaiah's first trip to the zoo. He wanted to get in the cages with almost everything (minus the snakes and the tarantulas). He thought the cuddly gorilla's were adorable and wanted to pet the owl's. Zack & Ty haven't been to the zoo since they were about 6 & 8 so they had a good time too. Its very cool to see the same ol' stuff at the zoo through the eyes of a toddler who has never seen anything like this 'in real life'. Now he'll have something to talk about every day like toddlers do until they forget or the next coolest thing comes along. I have to admit that this age is probably my favorite. Its the stage right after they are potty trained and everything they say is hilarious (like "Mommy, I need to go to the store for bananas, Starbucks and an orange boat" ) and new. I can't wait for all the new's that are coming up. It reminds me of when Zack & Ty were that age. I love it. I love that this time around I have two big boys that are the best big bro helpers ever!
